Name: Toy Story Mania!
Type: Interactive, game-type thing
Location: Hollywood Studios, in the Pixar Place area
The Gist: Supposed to look like an old-timey midway with characters from all 3 "Toy Story" films, this ride zips you through different "games" you play by using the controller in your car to shoot at 3-D screens. If you are familiar with the Buzz Lightyear Space-Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom, it is along those lines, except a HUNDRED times better and more fun.
A Must-Do For: Anyone who loves Toy Story (which, I'm pretty sure is everyone), people who like interactive rides
Avoid if: I really can't think of anyone who should avoid this, unless you just hate the franchise (do these people even exist??).
Fear Factor: 1/10. I can't think of anything even midly scary in this ride. It is completly kid-friendly in every possible way.
Lines & Other Tips: This is definitely one of the popular ones here at Hollywood studios, and the line is usually pretty redic. Your best bet is to get there FIRST thing when the park opens, or to get a fast pass (and get them early, they often sell out by the afternoon). However, if you happen to see a 30 minutes-or-less wait time, I'd go ahead and do it, because the queue line is pretty cool. Think giant versions of classic toys and a pretty rad Mr. Potato Head audio-animatronic. As usual, Disney's attention to detail is impecable, which makes a mild wait time good for checking things out. Especially if you are a huge Toy Story fan.
Honestly, I was never a fan of interactive rides OR watching things in 3-D, but I love this ride. It is really just so much fun, for kids and adults. And if you grew up with these movies like I did, you absolutely must go- no matter what you have to do to get on.
xoxo, Lily
