Ellen's Energy Adventure: Ride Review

Name: Ellen's Energy Adventure
Type:Half Movie, half very slow-moving ride
Location: Epcot, in Futureworld, in the Universe of Energy Pavilion
The Gist: Ellen DeGeneres and Bill Nye the Science Guy team up to teach riders about the varies sources of energy.
A Must-Do For: Fans of Ellen DeGeneres and Bill Nye the Science Guy (they actually work quite well together on-screen).
Avoid If: You don't belive in evolution or would be bothered by some midly outdated facts about energy production (global warming is basically just glossed over. This ride is pretty old...).
Fear Factor: 2/10. There are some loud noises, and parts of it get a little dark. There are some dinosaur animatronics, but don't worry, they are much less realistic and friendlier than those on that Animal Kingdom ride.

Lines and Other Tips: This is a pretty easy ride to get on, I think because it can hold so many people at one time. The first part of it is a little video thing, which I think lasts about 8 or so minutes, so the longest you'd have to wait is that time until the next one starts. Also, keep in mind that this entire experience lasts about 45 minutes.

I have to say, despite the dated and overly optimistic view about our energy consumption (the undersea oil drilling part is especially bothersome... particularly considering how much some areas in Florida suffered after that BP debacle), I still enjoy this ride. Partly as a fan of Ellen and Bill Nye, and partly because it is nice and relaxing and is the perfect way to get off your feet for 45 minutes.

xoxo, Lily
